Win Free Local Shopping in St. Albert with "Show Us What You Got" Campaign

April 1st saw the City of St. Albert roll out a vibrant campaign complete with colourful buttons and a strong message: "Show Us What You Got" in St. Albert. The social media-based movement promotes local businesses, and encourages residents to explore what St. Albert has to offer. Shoppers have already been sharing their local finds on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook using the hashtag #igotithere.

The Show Us What You Got campaign gives residents the opportunity to get out in the community, and discover items and services they may not have been aware were available in St. Albert. As a satellite city, residents often feel compelled to make the trip across the Henday to shop for items. We often don't realize the clothing, shoes, specialty groceries, and services on our lists are more readily available in a shop closer to home.

Purchasing from a local shop comes with a variety of benefits. We save time, gas, and often money by sourcing products and services nearby. Real expertise and friendly service are almost a guarantee, and it's often possible to try products out before purchasing.

Of course, this campaign doesn't only benefit shoppers. In addition to added convenience and quality for customers, increased local shopping and spending has some serious benefits for local businesses, and the entire community.

Show Us What You Got means:

  • Developing St. Albert's character
  • Helping local businesses and entrepreneurs get started
  • Minimizing waste in the city through reduced shipping, packaging, and driving
  • Fostering the development of custom services and products
  • Creating jobs for locals

Dawn Fedorvich, Manager of Business Retention and Expansion with the City, says: "research shows that entrepreneurs and skilled workers are more likely to invest and settle in a community that preserves and supports independent and distinct businesses." In other words, shopping locally fosters further growth for businesses, in a cycle of economics that keeps investment within our city limits.

On top of all these great built-in incentives, the Show Us What You Got campaign has a social media contest with the chance to win free local shopping from a business of your choice. Every photo of your local purchase with the hashtag #igotithere on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, will earn you an entry.

NABI wants to help connect local shoppers with local businesses at every opportunity. Our tenants offer a range of services you can explore and share. To find out what you can find at NABI, check out our list of our current tenants click here.

Share your local finds with us on FacebookInstagram, or Twitter, and pick up an #igotithere pin and more information from our front desks.

Promotional buttons for each of the categories have been made and businesses are encouraged to request a box of pins for their business. Questions contact Dawn Fedorvich at 780-459-1743 or
